This is the bird house my brother made me for Christmas. I like staring at it out my dining room window. I think the birds have a nicer pad than Ross and I. I'm considering moving in.

Alternate Reality
Because teenage girls are the bane of my existence and they make me crazy several times a week, it's imperative that I seek and find a "happy place" on a daily basis. I thought I'd share this one:

My Boy
Once upon a time, I met this great guy. Sometimes he drives me crazy, he makes me mad, or he gets me frustrated, but then he does something that reminds me of why I think he's Rossome. It makes me proud all over again that he's mine.
Yesterday, he got the idea to go out to the shooting range. He invited a boy to go with him, who got a new gun for Christmas but hadn't shot it yet. It was freezing cold outside, but both of them were thrilled to be going. I'm not sure who looked forward to it more. I know they had a great time out there because Ross told me all about it when he got home, and he doesn't very often give me details of his day.
It's watching him do stuff like that, that makes me love him more and more. Lucky for him because I could tell you about a few other habits that have the reverse effect. ;)

Happy B-Day Best Buddy!
Today is my lovely, lovely, fuddy duddy buddy, Stacy's 27th Birthday. (Isn't she the cutest?) Happy birthday lovely friend. :) This is my poem to you. I told you I'd write you a poem, didn't I?
Dearest lovely friend of mine,
I hope your birthday is sublime.
May your day be the very best.
In the next year I hope you're blessed.
I'm struggling with my rhyme tonight.
I'll try again on Friday night.
See you then, I'm looking forward to dinner,
Bring your boy - he's a real winner! :)

White Bread Sandwich
So this was a new one.
We have this very special (read *different*) aid in one of our PE classes this semester. Right now we're just going over our syllabus and passing out locks, so the students aren't dressing down yet, they're just sitting in the gym. Our aid, we'll call her Holly, gets a little hungry during class. Because she has her backpack and lunch with her, we let her snack on it during class. She pulled out her sandwich yesterday and one of my co-workers started quizzing her about what she was eating.
"It's a white bread sandwich."
"So what's on a white bread sandwich?"
"It's just a plain white bread sandwich."
"So is that like mayo, meat and cheese?"
"No."
"SPAM?"
"No."
"So what's on it?"
"Nothing, it's just white bread. It's a plain white bread sandwich. Two pieces of white bread."
She was a little exasperated at this point.
Can you even call two pieces of bread a sandwich? There was nothing sandwiched between them. Just wondering.

Weekend in Review
Last weekend I spent roughly 14 hours in a car. More than that actually, but whose counting? I drove down to GP Friday afternoon after work and met my homegirls for a trip down to Grandma's house. We were there to chillax with Grammy...

(Yeah, I'm still milking the wedding photos. It's my blog. Don't judge me.)
...and to run a little race.

We didn't have the best races of our lives...at least MJ and I have had better days, but we did have the best weekend of our lives. Okay maybe it wasn't the best, but it was a lot of fun. We ate ourselves silly, ran ourselves sore, and managed to catch some of the best Humboldt county weather that you can get.

In Trinidad, I also finally found a boat for Ross that I think is within our price range:
