Colorado

We had such a great trip to Fort Collins, but have been super busy since getting home so I haven't had an opportunity to write about any of it.  I did finally get my pictures uploaded, so I'll leave you with this one for now:
Yes please, and thank you very much. :)

Soy Dawg!

A little bit of Maine.

Rolls are us!

Look into my eyes....

This is a test

I think I have the picture thing figured out now.  This is an old one, but I wanted to see if it worked.  It kind of looks like Ross was taking a selfie with SB.  I'm not sure if that's what's going on, but that's what I'm going to call it.
Now that I know that I can get pictures on here, I'll try to post some more up-to-date ones.  Which means I need to take some.  I feel a photo shoot coming on, and what better way to spend a rainy day?
Speaking of which, my running partner in crime and I played hookie and didn't run.  Now that we have to push the stroller on our runs, it has created a lot of good excuses for us.  It's too rainy for running with the stroller (even though we have a very effective rain cover.....shhhhhh).  That course is too hilly for the stroller.  That pace is too fast for pushing the stroller.  That time is too early for running with the stroller.
We're milking it...no pun intended.  Actually, that's a lie.  It was totally intended.  Then there is the other set of excuses - "Well, if I hadn't just had a baby six months ago, I could have totally ran that faster."  "I'd run that race, but I 'just' had a baby and it's too far."  "Typically I could have beaten her, but I just had a baby."
I'm not sure how long I can use SB as my excuse for things, but I didn't really use being pregnant as an excuse, so I'm trying to make-up for lost time.  And it isn't just running that gets this treatment.  If I forget to do something, show-up late anywhere, or if I bow out of some function or another, somehow it's totally okay if I just remind them I have an infant at home.  It's like a get out of jail free card without limits.  Who knew that was part of the package?!  Awesome.  So to that point, he has just fallen asleep and it's my chance to get clean, so...peace out!

Deep Thoughts With B. St. Clair

I kind of love being around awkward people.  It makes me feel so...at home.  It's like I'm hanging out with me.

Having an egg surplus and extra butter in the freezer makes me feel rich.

Sometimes when I am really proud of the clothes I've put Soy Boy in, I'll take him places just to show him off.

If I eat vegetables for both lunch and dinner, I feel like I've earned twice as much dessert.

Our dog's farts have become louder and more prolific with age...is that typical?

SB stretches and toots to start every morning and has since birth.  Does that make him an old soul?

Enjoying Every Minute

I pretty much feel like the luckiest person ever.  Being a mom is more fun than I even imagined, and being a stay-at-home mom pretty much rocks my socks.  It helps that our kid is stinking cute.  If he was an ugly baby, I might be back to work already.......just kidding.  It really does help, however, that he is an easy baby and a happy baby.  I don't think we could have gotten any luckier in that department.

Watching Soy Boy learn and grow and grow and grow some more, has been entertaining at the very least.
It is so fun to watch his reaction to tastes of real food, and it's amazing how quickly he caught on to eating and wanting the real stuff.  He had one of his biggest meltdowns when Grammy was eating an apple and not sharing with him.  Now pretty much every time he sees someone eating, he lets them know he wants in on the action.  By the size of his thighs, it's obvious he usually gets his way.
Besides food, he is also obsessed with his hands.  He thinks they are beautiful and is content to stare at them for great lengths of time.  They taste pretty delicious too; they spend a good portion of each day in his mouth.
He loves his dad.  Ross is the only person he has ever reached for, and it pretty much melted my heart.  They have lots of guy time to discuss important stuff like snowmobiles, red meat, chainsaws, and guns.  When Ross is pushing the stroller, they do lots of off roading and four wheeling.  I'm told keeping all three wheels on the ground, is for sissies. SB loves it.

He has so much personality, it kills me.  I could watch him all day long.  Okay, I pretty much do.  I'm so grateful to Ross for letting me be the one at home.  He's a pretty cool dude; I think I'll keep him.
I think my pictures must be too big because they haven't been uploading to the site.  I'll mess around with them some more, and hopefully get a few up here before too long.  That's my story.
