Bad Habits

Youk! Remember this guy?

He's the one all in black who is trying to hone in on our wedding rehearsal. (He just really felt he ought to be included.)

Somewhere along the way this dog has picked up a couple of really bad habits.

Bad Habit #1: Pooping in his sleep.
Bad Habit #2: Stealing stuff that doesn't belong to him...or us.

Since you didn't ask, let me give you the details. Have you ever heard the phrase "turd nugget?" That's Youk's calling card. He'll be laying on his bed sleeping soundly. Suddenly he starts twitching like he's chasing something in his sleep. Then he'll leave a single turd nugget on his bed. He wakes up, sniffs his bed and then runs of like he's frightened. If we call him over to his bed he tucks his tale and drops his head like he's embarrassed or ashamed of his little mishap.
It's totally gross but also just funny enough to keep us from getting mad.

His other habit he picked up on his own. He has always enjoyed playing fetch, but we have very specific toys and training tools that we use for that game. Recently, however, he started retrieving our newspaper off of our front driveway. That was kind of cute until he started retrieving all of the neighbor's papers as well. We'll let him run around outside when we're doing yard work and all of the sudden realize we have a pile of papers that don't belong to us sitting in our driveway. He loves it. If we don't take it from him, he'll bring the paper to the grass, toss it around, and shred it all to pieces. It's a fun game. So far nobody has complained. They're the freebie papers that have about two articles and the rest advertisements so nobody really reads them anyway. At least we have that going for us.
